My Shadows repertoire includes most of their early tunes, a large array of their later output (‘70s/’80s) and some more recent Hank Marvin tunes that he has recorded as a solo artist. Sometimes I will divide up the Shadows music into segments, playing small sets of music from each era of their history.
In addition to the music of the Shadows, during the night I will play some blues, early rock ‘n’ roll, other non-Shadows guitar instrumentals, and tunes by Cliff Richard, Buddy Holly, Dire Straits and more. I often put in an acoustic set too, which features a couple of quite special tunes.
In the past I have even featured a karaoke session. People get up and sing the lyrics to songs as I play them as instrumentals. It’s great fun—especially if they can’t remember the words!
If there is a piece of music you would specifically like me to play—even if it’s not strictly a guitar piece—let me know when you book. Even if I don’t play it already, I can learn it. I’m always looking to add to my list of tracks.
