“Justin Daish is a remarkably proficient guitarist . . . he not only sounds like Hank Marvin, but could almost be him on stage.” Guitar & Bass magazine
“Daish has captured Marvin’s famous clean guitar sound.” The Stage magazine
“He’s just like Hank!” Cliff Hall, the Shadows’ legendary keyboard player
It’s extremely flattering to read praise such as the above quotes (I must make sure fame doesn’t go to my head!). I’m 22 and have been playing “Shadows” guitar for as long as I can care to remember. I was a member of young group the Foot Tappers from July 2006 to September 2007, my last gig with them being the great honour of playing Bruce Welch’s Shadowmania event. Since leaving the Foot Tappers I have formed the Shadowers. We are now underway with our first few gigs.
Now, I must mention my parents, who manage to fill the roles of roadies, chauffeurs, finance brokers, secretaries and publicists all at once! I must remember to pay Mum back for that guitar! And massive thanks to Phil Kelly—without his advice and friendship I couldn’t currently be doing what I am. Phil, I owe you big time.
Now folks, it’s time for me to stop typing (until the next diary instalment!) and to get on with playing some music!
